About Me

Design is everywhere around us. Every advertisement, sign, business card, and magazine has been designed by someone.

My name is Erin Chute and I am a graphic designer from Northborough, MA. I graduated in 2020 from Colby-Sawyer College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a Minor in Sustainability. With my first drawing class in high school, I realized that I wanted to do something in art. After choosing graphic design, I loved every aspect of it. This path has proven to be the right one for me. I won the 2017 Colby-Sawyer Maple Syrup Label contest and the 2018 Holiday Card contest. Both of these were two of my favorite projects because of the real-life uses they had. I loved being able to see my designs being sold at the stable or printed out and mailed to various donors of the college.

As a designer, I would define my style as clean and elegant. I am a major lover of history. Because of this, vintage, elegant styles play a major part in my designing as well as clean and simple layouts. Another of my favorite projects was Threads: 100 Years of Fashion. This project combined all of my interests including history, fashion, and publication design into a book with clean, simple layouts. It totaled to 50 pages long with an accompanying fold-out poster. This project helped me to realize my love of publication design and have chosen this as the field I would like to go into after graduation. Since choosing this career path, I have reinforced time and time-again that this is the right field because I know what I am creating is good.
